  • Erwin Staudt studied business sciences in both Stuttgart and Freiburg. In 1973, he received his degree in economics.
  • He began his career in 1973 at International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), and headed the branch office in Berlin from 1986 through 1989.
  • In 1989, he took over the office of Chief Representative and Head of Communications and Public Relations.
  • From 1992 through 1993, Erwin Staudt headed PC sales and became the Managing Director (sales) at IBM Deutschland GmbH.
  • In 1993, he became the General Manager Competitive Marketing in Paris before being appointed as the Vice President of Marketing in 1994.
  • During the period from 1995 through 1998, Erwin Staudt assumed global responsibility, as Global General Manager, for the areas “Basic Industries” and “Petroleum”.
  • From 1998 through 2003, he was the Chairman of the Management Board of IBM Deutschland GmbH.
  • In addition, Erwin Staudt has been the Honorary President of the D21 initiative since 1999 and from 2003 through 2011 has held the office of the President of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V. 
  • Erwin Staudt has been the Honorary President of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V. since 2011.


In May 2005, Erwin Staudt was elected to the Supervisory Board of GRENKELEASING AG and confirmed in May 2010 for five years and again in May 2015 for a further four years.

Mr Erwin Staudt is a member of the following statutory supervisory boards and comparable domestic or foreign supervisory bodies:

  •  PROFI Engineering Systems AG, Darmstadt,
  • USU Software AG, Möglingen,
  • Interstuhl Büromöbel GmbH & Co. KG, Meßstetten-Tieringen, (Member of the Advisory Board).
